We are recruiting for an Operations Manager to work on our Southwest Water Lead Replacement Programme across Devon, Cornwall and West Dorset. The Operations Manager has accountability for the safe, and quality assured delivery of the programme / works in accordance with the Clients specifications and reporting requirements. You are responsible for driving forward the implementation of HSEQ requirements in line with the Network Plus processes and systems and aligned to the requirement of the client.

This role has the responsibility for ensuring that documentation, site records, forward planning and forecasting, progress photographs and progress are maintained. The Operations Manager will ensure all subcontract resources work to Networks Plus HSEQ requirements at all times, ensuring all assets are installed to the correct specification. Liaison with both planning and street works teams to ensure the efficient delivery of the programme. Assisting the Delivery Manager to maintain optimal performance in delivery of the works through planning to final installation. Reporting and management of physical progress and financial status on projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of supervisors day to day managing the Lead Replacement Programme.
  • Manage programme resources to meet the successful delivery of the project including subcontractors and visiting support.
  • Liaison with the planning team to ensure efficient planning of resources.
  • Ensure Street Works Notices are opened and closed in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with Project Manager in relation to performance and reporting.
  • Adhere to Network Plus SHEQW requirements.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed and kept up to date (RAMS, Waste Management, CPP, COSHH, Programme, Street works notices, Comms etc.).
  • Ensure site inductions and ensure toolbox talks are completed effectively.
  • Day to day liaison with Network Plus Delivery Manager, Operations and Client Lead.
  • Weekly reporting requirements.
  • Manage commercial success of project including EW, Instructions and change control.
  • Ensure quality processes and water hygiene requirements are complied with.
  • Plan and manage handover and commissioning of new assets to SWW Operations.
  • Arrange and chair weekly meetings.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience of lead replacement, Customer Pipes, Service Pipes and Internals.
  • Knowledge of relevant management techniques (resource management, monitoring and control).
  • Knowledge of relevant no dig techniques.
  • H&S Qualification IOSH/NEBOSH/SMSTS or similar.
  • NRSWA Regulations.
  • Financial awareness.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Work Regulations, CDM 2015 H&S at Work Act 1974.
  • Competence, knowledge and experience in excavations and service avoidance.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Good team management and communication skills.
  • Good Computer Skills Word, Excel, Microsoft Project etc.
  • Clean Driving Licence.
