As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will work as part of a team to maintain commercial information associated with the contract. You will be expected to input and analyse cost and project information and assist in compiling and producing Management Information and Reports. Producing weekly updates to review financial performance and review and process Subcontractor applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor the actual works activities carried out against the pre-determined schedule, the number of items supplied and costs.
  • Monitor the staff, labour and plant hire rates utilised on the contract; compiling monthly reports and managing cost allocation.
  • Organise and track the procurement of Sub-contractors.
  • Be responsible for the preparation and internal Governance Authorisation of Subcontractor Payments.
  • Assist in the placing of subcontract task orders in accordance with the main contract.
  • Attend Operational & Subcontractor Meetings; monitoring subcontractors against programme.
  • Assist in the preparation of Client and Subcontract Final Accounts.
  • Ensure the Risk Register and Change Register is kept up to date.
  • Support the monitoring of internal expenditure against Budget/Cost Plans and maximise the efficiency of reporting techniques and systems.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Recent graduate in Quantity Surveying or other commercially related discipline.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
