Plan and organise site work and activities. Monitor project progress and report to ensure work meets client standards. Make sure teams work efficiently and complete tasks on time. Ensure the correct construction methods and quality standards are followed. Manage workers, materials, plant, and equipment on site. Arrange and mobilise necessary resources (labour, plant, materials). Monitor project costs including labour, purchases, and equipment hire. Coordinate site operations including labour, plant, materials, traffic management, and subcontractors. Plan ahead to ensure resources are available for upcoming work. Respond quickly to client emergencies or urgent requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Administration
- Follow company and client policies, procedures, and documents.
- Help improve systems to meet project needs.
- Submit weekly timesheets, vehicle logs, and plant logs.
- Complete required paperwork and electronic records on time.
- Inform the company immediately about any absence.
- Health, Safety and Environmental
- Ensure health, safety, quality, and environmental standards are followed on site.
- Complete all required health and safety documents on time.
- Organise work to reduce risks to people, equipment, materials, and the environment.
- Brief workers and subcontractors on their duties, safe working methods, and emergency procedures.
- Promote health and safety awareness on site.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors’ activities.
- Ensure workers are trained and understand workplace hazards.
- Carry out regular site and equipment safety inspections.
- Make sure safety rules are followed and PPE is worn.
- Report any safety or environmental issues immediately.
- Prepare and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Vehicles
- Follow the company vehicle policy.
- Keep vehicles stocked with necessary tools and equipment.
- Carry out monthly vehicle and plant inspections.
- Take and submit required site photographs.
- Keep vehicles and equipment in good condition.
- Complete safety checks and equipment audits.
- Report any vehicle or equipment faults immediately.
- Staff Management
- Manage team members’ daily work, holidays, and absences.
- Delegate tasks effectively.
- Supervise workers and subcontractors on site.
- Keep staff motivated and maintain good teamwork.
- Support staff improvement through guidance, coaching, and mentoring.
- Identify and recommend training needs for team members.
- General
- Communicate and work with colleagues when required.
- Attend internal and external meetings when needed.
- Complete any required job-related training and development.
- Provide general support to the business when required.
- Carry out other duties related to the role.
