Reporting into the Pre-Construction Manager, the Pre-Construction Surveyor is responsible for completing a CDM compliant Pre-Construction survey for Gas Mains Replacement works. The surveyor will identify any risks and complete feedback short reports for any third-party restrictions, bridges, structures, railways, waterways or any potential re-scope suggestions. When required, complete pre-design surveys and liaise with the Cadent design team to ensure any new work is fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete a series of pre-survey checks (gas maps, historical maps, other relevant utilities and completing a line search).
  • Completion of an onsite Appcan survey capturing all relevant on-site conditions and details of the surrounding environment identifying any on-site risks.
  • Attend site meetings and project planning meetings with clients and stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with Health & Safety advisors to promote best practice across all works.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety standards are being adhered to across all operational projects.
  • Ensure any CDM regulations (principle contractor responsibilities) are being adhered to across all works.
  • Develop strong and regular communication links with clients, colleagues and Local Authority officers.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working in a Gas operational role.
  • Strong operational knowledge of Gas mains replacement techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Clean driving licence.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • High attention to detail.
