Left Bank Leeds is a stunning grade 2 former church building on Cardigan Road Leeds 6, just a mile west of the city centre with a growing reputation for its rich diversity of activities promoting creativity, connection, and wellbeing. As a social enterprise, it is also a much-loved/sought-after venue for wedding and other celebrations, markets, and corporate events.

What's the difference between the two boards?

  • Charity Trustee Board: Trustees focus on the bigger picture - helping shape Left Bank's vision, strategy and charitable impact.
  • CIC Director Board: CIC Directors support the running and sustainability of Left Bank's commercial and operational activities, including events, hires and programme delivery.

You can apply for either board - or both.

Commitment to core responsibilities:

  • You do not need any previous experience of being on a board as our induction process will identify any training needs you may have, and signpost you to relevant training if needed.

  • Use skills, knowledge and contacts for Left Bank Leeds' benefit.
  • Have (or have interest in learning) a basic level of financial literacy.
  • Support the Charity's object to advance the Christian faith, while welcoming people of all beliefs and backgrounds (even if you are personally of a different faith/non-faith).
  • Have an interest in the creative arts, and promoting the arts for public benefit.
  • Have a connection to communities in Leeds and Yorkshire (or interest in building connection).
  • Prepared to assist fundraising through bid writing and/or personal introduction and influence.
  • A willingness to undertake training in areas where this would be useful for the role.
  • Uphold the legal duties of Trustees and/or CIC Directors as per Charity Commission and/or Companies House guidelines.
  • Commit sufficient time to meetings and preparation.

For CIC board: a monthly 2 hr evening meeting + prep and follow up tasks.
