Network IT are working with a highly respected organisation to recruit multiple Senior Engineers to join a growing Digital Services function. This is an exciting opportunity to work on business-critical digital products and platforms, developing modern software solutions within a collaborative, product-led environment. You'll work across a modern technology stack, typically including .NET, Azure, APIs, cloud-native services, and DevOps practices, helping deliver services used at scale across the organisation.
Role Overview
As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, delivery, and support of modern software solutions. Working as part of a cross-functional product team, you will contribute to architectural decisions, champion engineering best practices, and help shape the technical direction of critical products and services. You'll combine hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, mentoring colleagues, driving quality standards, and ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and maintainable throughout their lifecycle. Working within a build-run-own environment, you'll help deliver and support applications from initial concept through to production and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions across a range of digital products
- Contribute to system architecture and technical design, ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, and maintainable
- Champion engineering best practices including code quality, TDD, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps methodologies
- Mentor and support engineers within the team, providing technical leadership and guidance
- Develop and support APIs, integrations, and cloud-based services across complex environments
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, Architects, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver value
- Support operational excellence through monitoring, incident management, problem resolution, and service improvement
- Drive continuous improvement through emerging technologies, automation, and AI-assisted development practices
- Ensure solutions comply with security, governance, and performance standards
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong software engineering background with experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications
- Excellent understanding of software design, architecture, and modern engineering principles
- Experience with .NET / C# development
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native development
- Experience working with microservices architectures and API-first development
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, Automated Testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Experience working with APIs, integrations, and distributed systems
- Strong understanding of data modelling, database design, and application performance considerations
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Ability to review code, maintain engineering standards, and support technical decision-making
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools
- Experience working across Azure and/or AWS cloud environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience mentoring developers and supporting team capability growth
- Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tools to improve software delivery
