Network IT are working with a large, complex and highly respected organisation to recruit a Head of People Technology & Transformation. This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape and deliver a forward-thinking People Technology strategy. This role will lead the evolution of a broad HR systems landscape, with a core focus on SuccessFactors (Employee Central, Recruitment & Onboarding, Joule, and Enterprise Service Management), alongside legacy systems, driving modernisation, efficiency, and improved user experience.

Role Overview

As Head of People Technology & Transformation, you will operate as a key member of the People Services leadership team, owning the end-to-end People Technology ecosystem and driving both strategic transformation and operational excellence. You will lead the development of a long-term People Technology strategy, balancing innovation with robust BAU delivery, while embedding governance, improving data quality, and maximising system capability. This includes leading a roadmap covering areas such as payroll transformation, AI adoption (Joule), enterprise service management, and wider system integration. This role requires a highly credible leader who can bring clarity to complex environments, build high-performing teams, and confidently challenge, influence, and guide senior stakeholders. You will combine strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery, focusing on sustainable improvement rather than short-term fixes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic advisor, shaping the People Technology landscape and articulating the value of technology, data, and AI
  • Own and deliver the People Technology ecosystem, ensuring scalable, integrated solutions across SuccessFactors and wider systems
  • Define and execute a clear technology roadmap, aligning priorities, dependencies, risks, and resources
  • Lead transformation initiatives including payroll migration, AI enablement (Joule), and enterprise service management rollout
  • Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for optimisation, automation, and enhanced user experience
  • Ensure robust governance, compliance, and data integrity, including security and regulatory standards
  • Oversee testing, release management, and change control, ensuring solution quality and stability
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, confidently engaging and influencing at Executive and Board level
  • Lead and develop a high-performing People Technology team, building capability and reducing reliance on third parties
  • Provide clarity, structure, and momentum in a complex, evolving environment, balancing transformation with BAU delivery
  • Work cross-functionally with Digital Services, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver cohesive solutions

Significant experience leading People Technology / HR Systems functions in complex organisations. Strong expertise in SuccessFactors (Employee Central, Recruitment & Onboarding), with broader HR systems knowledge. Proven track record delivering HR systems transformation and optimisation at scale. Strong understanding of system architecture, integrations, and enterprise delivery environments. Experience with payroll systems and EC Payroll (or comparable platforms). Demonstrable ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders, including Executive-level audiences. Experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity. Experience embedding governance, data integrity, and position management disciplines. Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, business-focused outcomes.
