We are recruiting full or part time Optometrists to cover postcodes in Essex: CM, CO, IP. This is a Monday to Friday role (no weekends required). You will visit Nursing and Care Homes carrying out a full clinical test within the above areas. Excellent clinical skills, a sympathetic approach and empathy are required, as most patients are elderly and infirm, some suffering from advanced dementia. You will be assisted at all times by an experienced Optical Assistant or Qualified Dispensing Optician and will have access to full support from a Lead Optometrist.
Schedule:
- Visit one to two Nursing/Care Homes a day, covering a radius of no more than 40 miles.
- 15 tests per day; first appointment at 9:30am with an aim to finish at 4:30pm.
- Use your own car; petrol expenses covered at 25p per mile.
Working hours: 8:30am to 5:30pm (including travel).
Remuneration:
- Basic salary of £65k to £70k per annum plus achievable bonus.
- Professional fees paid for Private Medical insurance.
- Pension contribution.
- Full sick pay after 12 months’ service.
- 33 days holiday including Bank Holidays.
