Job Overview
Experienced Optical Assistant – Oldham, Greater Manchester and surrounding Areas. An Optical Domiciliary Company is looking to recruit a full‑time experienced Optical Assistant to work Monday to Friday, visiting nursing and care homes within Oldham, Greater Manchester and surrounding areas assisting the Optometrist with sight tests.
Responsibilities
- Visiting Nursing and Care Homes
- Assisting the Optometrist
- Carrying out full dispenses at all levels
- Carrying out aftercare and fittings
- Administrative duties
This is a Monday to Friday role, no weekends.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Confident with at least 2 years’ experience within optics
- Good clinical knowledge with excellent dispensing skills
- Empathy and a sympathetic approach as most patients will be elderly and some will have dementia
- Team player
- Experienced driver with at least 2 years of driving experience
- Enjoys driving and being out on the road
