We have an excellent permanent opportunity for a Furniture Designer to join our client, a London-based interior architecture studio renowned for creating thoughtfully designed, immersive spaces for luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, and private residences worldwide.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Furniture Design or a related field and will have a minimum of two years’ experience in furniture design, either working independently or as part of a collaborative team environment. Experience within an interior design team is preferred, though not essential.
This role requires a strong understanding of furniture construction, finishes, ergonomics, proportion, and cost considerations. The candidate should be highly creative, detail-oriented, organized, and capable of producing high-level technical drawing packages.
The successful applicant will be responsible for developing a comprehensive understanding of the studio’s design standards and overall aesthetic. They will create bespoke furniture designs across multiple projects, managing the process from the initial brief and concept development through to detailed design drawings, shop drawing reviews, prototype testing, and final site installation. Designs must be developed with careful consideration for project budgets and intended end use.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating project-related research, contributing to the development of the in-house furniture library, and collaborating closely with the wider design team to interpret briefs and create intelligent, innovative design solutions. The candidate will also contribute confidently to the creative direction of assigned projects, ensuring that the studio’s design DNA is consistently maintained throughout all stages of development.
Technically, the candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino or equivalent software, as well as SketchUp or other 3D modelling platforms. Experience working directly with furniture manufacturers is important, including the ability to confidently discuss shop drawings, finishing methods, value engineering, and prototyping with manufacturers and clients. The candidate should also be capable of coordinating effectively with contractors and reviewing or red-marking construction and shop drawings where required.
If this opportunity sounds like it has a good synergy with your experience, then we would love to hear from you with your CV and portfolio of work. Two days WFH after successful completion of probationary period.
