The Company is a privately owned construction and engineering contractor, specialising in modular healthcare buildings and hospital construction. They deliver single source construction and engineering solutions to the UK's public and private sectors, consistently promoting innovation and sustainable construction.

The Project involves working as a Design Manager at the company's Head Office in the North West, playing a key role in the design process from tender through to site delivery. You will work closely with the pre-construction and site operations teams on various Health Care projects, including extensions and refurbishments, both traditional build and modular, up to the value of £10m.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of BREEAM
  • Familiarity with digital platforms such as 4P and understanding of BIM processes is highly beneficial
  • Working knowledge of Building and CDM Regulations
  • Good working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD and REVIT
  • Demonstrable experience of assisting in the design process of construction projects up to the value of £5m
  • NHS background (desirable but not essential)

Duties:

  • Cost control
  • Liaise with stakeholders
  • Progress Reporting / Monitoring
  • Regular use of Microsoft software
  • Observing 4P for new information
  • Managing cost within budget figures
  • Chair Design Team meetings regularly
  • Hold responsibility for coordination of projects
  • Work closely and report to Senior Design Manager
  • Lead internal and external members of the design team
  • Initiate a good working communication platform between the team
  • Establish and maintain relationships with design consultants
  • Carry out initial review of design information prior to issuing to client
  • Review quotations and ensure all information has been included
  • Coordinate the flow of information between the site team and design team
  • Provide support and technical advice to the client and other stakeholders
  • Work closely with Project teams on all matters of design including Health & Safety
