Role Purpose: To assess the design, manufacture, and in-service aspects of engineering assets, using defined Codes, Standards, specifications, procedures, and knowledge and experience appropriate for complex/demanding situations. This role may also include managing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To perform complex assessments and provide advice for service delivery within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.
  • To produce the deliverable within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review and monitor other employees’ work as requested.
  • To discuss/present the deliverable with the external client at a senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • Undertake routine administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.
  • To assess/recommend the time/value of the work to be undertaken for an external client within an agreed fee/cost structure and within the commercial aspects of the contract, and issue quotations up to an agreed limit and Lloyd’s Register’s standard terms and conditions (e.g., Commercial Notice).
  • To pursue CPD and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
  • To develop technically other employees, as appropriate, to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
  • To contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LR relationships.
  • To make recommendations based on external client feedback to assist in service delivery improvement and to help build the business.
  • To undertake project management where applicable including monitoring project progress and spend against budget and contract requirements.
