This role is a vital part of the Power Platform Support team at LRQA and is offered as a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, reporting directly to the Power Platform Lead. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of the Power Platform’s capabilities, a genuine enthusiasm for its potential, and a commitment to high‑quality development standards, governance, and collaborative ways of working.
The role requires experience delivering solutions within an Agile environment and working within a clearly defined software development lifecycle. Alongside development and platform‑focused activities, the role will provide support for existing applications within an established ITIL framework, adhering to formal Change Management processes to ensure platform stability, reliability, and compliance throughout the contract period.
Working closely with the Power Platform Lead, you will support and promote Microsoft Power Platform Centre of Excellence (CoE) standards and governance. This includes helping the business adopt and leverage evolving Power Platform features in a controlled and compliant manner to maximise value. You will act as a key escalation point for both citizen development initiatives and enterprise‑level applications, ensuring appropriate balance between innovation, enablement, and governance.
Collaboration is central to this role. You will work alongside the wider IT team to proactively identify delivery risks, operational issues, and technical constraints, escalating matters appropriately. You will contribute technical insight into the ongoing direction of the platform and its applications, recommending improvements to operational procedures and supporting the development and refinement of governance standards and best practices. The role also includes providing second‑line support for business‑critical applications. You will be responsible for investigating and diagnosing technical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing robust, sustainable fixes to minimise disruption and maintain continuity of business operations.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively, manage expectations, and plan and deliver outcomes aligned with agreed standards, processes, and timelines. Where required, you will work closely with software vendors and third‑party suppliers to ensure platform‑related incidents and service requests are resolved within agreed service levels, including managing and supporting technical escalations where specialist expertise is needed.
Key Responsibilities- Work as a Power Platform SME ensuring that development work is a prime example of good practice for the design, build, test, and deployment of Power Platform solutions.
- You will be working on complex or critical Power Platform solutions including citizen designed Canvas apps and enterprise level Dynamics Model Driven applications.
- You will work with others in the wider IT team to help build solutions to meet business requirements across LRQA.
- You will work with Citizen Developers and stakeholders to help build their expertise in Power Platform development standards and best practice to support quality in delivery.
- You will work on the delivery of the backlog of PowerApps development and enhancements across LRQA.
- You will be expected to remain up to date with developments on the Power Platform and supporting platforms to identify where changes or new features or functionality can be utilised within LRQA.
- You will be required to perform SDLC activities from requirements gathering through to deployment, support, and continuous improvement.
- You will support, monitor, and maintain existing applications.
- You will work with other members in the team on support tickets, triaging incidents and acting on service requests for applications held by IT Operations.
- Ensure that all work meets the requirements of the security and architecture teams and work with those teams to follow established processes.
- Work in an ITSM capacity delivering incident, change, and problem management support – including incident response, root cause analysis and implementation of changes in line with IT processes and CAB.
- Provide input and support to programmes or projects that have Power Platform requirements and act as a focal point for those activities.
- Be an agent for change, embracing new technologies and supporting the business to realise the value to our customers and our business working in conjunction with other teams.
- Technical background with at least 3 years’ experience working with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform.
- Proven track record in developing significant Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate) or SharePoint solutions, including knowledge of the latest technologies, including Dataverse, Model-Driven and Canvas apps.
- Practical experience of designing and working with databases or data repositories (Dataverse, SQL, SharePoint lists etc).
- Experience of working in an Agile environment and with a multi-disciplined team.
- Effective communication skills to engage with an ability to not only listen but also advise providing appropriate challenges and questions to find the correct resolution.
- Solid grasp of ITIL around Release, Deployment and Change Management.
- The ability to source problem areas, identify and implement a fix.
- Self‑motivated and can use own initiative to work with limited guidance to implement innovative solutions.
- Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution.
- Result‑driven, analytical, and innovative individual with the ability to decipher business requirements and convert them effectively into innovative technology solutions.
