Digital Safety Monitoring Analyst (DSMA) – West Yorkshire, UK

Netsweeper is looking for a part-time Digital Safety Monitoring Analyst who will monitor alerts that arise in our OnGuard system in order to identify and escalate urgent and high-level risk alerts to appropriate specialized colleagues and partners in a timely, accurate and professional manner. OnGuard (formerly nMonitor) is a tool for student monitoring to ensure that they can accurately detect and assess harmful student behaviour in order to intervene early to successfully mitigate potential harmful activity. OnGuard technology works both online and offline, scanning internet content, desktop content, and user-submitted data in real-time.

Your priority will be to assess alerts efficiently and accurately to support maintaining the safety and well-being of students. You will be expected to work shifts as part of a 24/7 team, working from home out of business hours. We currently have a part-time position available, including Weekend work, with potential for covering additional hours covering holidays, etc.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitoring alerts that come into the OnGuard platform
  • Identify and escalate high priority/risk alerts based on established protocols and parameters
  • Provide prompt, clear and professional communication of alerts to identified partners and/or managers following guidelines and procedures
  • Complete required reports and recordkeeping related to alerts and responses in an accurate and detailed manner
  • Cooperate and collaborate with management to promote innovative and compassionate service to customers and to enhance safeguarding capabilities on a continual basis
  • Attend and participate in OnGuard team meetings to contribute to service knowledge and identify trends or themes arising in alerts, and to help identify future training and service needs
  • Be reliable, organized and able to manage part-time hours. Flexibility is an asset to enhance coverage capacity on this team

Qualifications/Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer literate with a good understanding of social media and online applications
  • Able to assess situations and respond promptly
  • Calm and level-headed when working in stressful situations
  • Comfortable working independently or with others
  • Compassionate and understand the importance of online safety and the protection of students
  • Previous experience of monitoring systems and working with sensitive information with vulnerable situations is a strong asset
  • Post-secondary education in fields related to nursery/preschool, primary school, social work is beneficial but not mandatory
