We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our NOC and Cloud team.

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for building, managing and optimizing the company’s computer networks, including computer and firewall, and ensuring maximum performance, security and availability. This role requires strong expertise in network protocols, security, virtualization, and system administration to ensure high availability, security, and performance of our network systems. The Senior Network Engineer will work closely with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and support network architecture development. The role is critical for minimizing downtime, enhancing performance, reliability, stability and integrating hybrid network solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of and direct experience with network protocols and security. They need to be someone that looks ahead to find areas of improvements, identify potential risks, costs and shares their suggestions with their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design & Architecture: Planning, designing and deploying functional networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN) & Cloud solutions based on business needs.
  • Implementation & Configuration: Configure and install various network devices and services (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancer, VPN, QoS). Perform cost estimation and identify mechanisms for cost control and containment. Leverage automated deployment tools & methods (Ansible).
  • Monitoring & Maintenance: Proactively monitor network performance and traffic, manage IP addresses, and apply patches or updates to ensure reliability. Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations. Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability. Monitor system resource utilization, trending and capacity planning. Familiarity with the Grafana Stack, Syslog & Open Telemetry.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide tier 2/3 technical support, diagnose faults, and resolve network failures to minimize downtime and support customers and end users. Participate in on‑call rotations for network support outside of regular working hours.
  • Network Security & Policies: Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure. Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team. Liaise with other personnel and customers as required for problem resolutions. Ensure security and compliance with policies and procedures. Provide technical support and troubleshooting to resolve network related issues. Stay updated with the latest trends in networking & have advanced understanding of company product, deployment, infrastructure, devices and security.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Document and maintain network environment configurations and diagrams. Provide collaboration, assistance and mentoring to other team members.

Qualifications:

Must Haves:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior network‑related role.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is required, and professional networking certifications are a strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker for automation, emulation, containerization and Kubernetes networking.
  • Deep understanding of network protocols (IPSEC, BGP, Static Routing, Subnetting).
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
  • Hands‑on experience with monitoring, network diagnostics and network analytics tools.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in Linux Server Environment.
  • Experience with both on‑premises and cloud networks.
  • Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting firewalls (Linux / Fortinet).
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).

Would be a Plus:

  • Relevant certifications include, but are not limited to: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), in addition to Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty, VMware Certified Professional – Network Virtualization (VCP‑NV).
  • CCNP Security, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), EC‑Council Certified Network Defender (CND), Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Professional (PCNSP).
  • Cisco Certified DevNet Professional/Expert.
  • Experience with Fortinet network devices and firewalls.

Location: This is a largely home‑based position, with some travel to the local data centre in Canning Town, East London for onsite work. Successful candidates must reside within a 1‑hour travel time to the data centre location. Occasional or rate travel in country to client sites. Flexibility to work outside of standard 7am‑4pm local time zone hours may be required at times (on‑call scheduling) to support the global team.
