Job Description The Fixed Wireless Access Engineer will be responsible for installing and servicing Airband’s Fixed Wireless Access network (FWA) and other wireless technologies such as 4G. The role involves customer installations of wireless radios according to our quality standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in wireless communication technologies, particularly in fixed wireless access solutions. Proficiency in designing, deploying, and troubleshooting point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless networks is essential. Experience with LTE, WiMAX, microwave, and network planning tools is highly desirable. Knowledge of network security protocols to ensure data integrity and confidentiality is also important. Requirements Major Roles and Responsibilities: Install wireless services from Airband’s main network to customer premises, ensuring minimal disruption and safety compliance. Configure routers, modems, and networking hardware/software for seamless wireless connectivity. Conduct thorough testing to verify functionality and signal strength. Demonstrate working services professionally. Maintain high health and safety standards. Manage stock levels and vehicle cleanliness. Complete wireless survey installations using provided IT equipment. Utilize third-party network software for survey and installation planning. Use hand and power tools for wireless service installation. Report infrastructure defects via designated software/apps. Participate in OOH on-call work on a rota basis. Coordinate with colleagues and customers, maintaining regular communication with the office. Ensure radio signal levels are below 65dBm unless authorized, and throughput meets specified thresholds.
