About The Role

We are seeking a talented Salesforce Developer to join our Product Engineering Team at Sage, based in Winnersh, UK. This hybrid role requires an individual with a strong hands-on development background, eager to contribute to the evolution of Sage’s flagship HR and people management SaaS product, Sage People. As a key player in the team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Salesforce solutions that support our global customer base. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a scalable platform built on the Salesforce ecosystem, focusing on delivering innovative features and functionalities that enhance user experience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in object-oriented programming, preferably with Java or C#.
• Hands-on expertise in Salesforce Lightning development, including Apex, SOQL, and JavaScript.
• A solid understanding of Salesforce platform architecture and best practices is essential.
• Certification as a Salesforce Developer is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Ability to manage complex technical requirements and translate business needs into scalable solutions.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git, project management tools like Jira, and CI/CD pipelines will be advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining robust Salesforce solutions tailored for a global SaaS environment.
• Working directly with Apex, SOQL, JavaScript, and Lightning Web Components to deliver customer and internal management functionalities.
• Translating complex business requirements into technical solutions, participating in technical design discussions, and contributing to the overall architecture of the platform.
• Collaborating closely with other Salesforce developers, frontend engineers, testers, product managers, and architects to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features.
• Actively participating in Agile ceremonies such as Scrum and SAFe, engaging in quarterly planning and product releases.
• Contributing to the product roadmap, which increasingly incorporates AI-driven features, aligning development efforts with strategic business goals.
• Focusing on coding and system improvements rather than administrative or configuration tasks.
• Directly impacting the functionality, scalability, and performance of Sage’s HR SaaS product, supporting millions of users worldwide.
