About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Front End Developer to join our growing team at TXP. This is a permanent position based in the UK, specifically in the West Midlands, with hybrid working arrangements. The ideal candidate will be passionate about front‐end technologies, possess strong leadership qualities, and enjoy working hands‐on while guiding technical delivery. In this newly created role, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of front‐end development projects, influence technical strategies, and mentor junior developers. You will work on a variety of internal initiatives and customer‐facing projects, contributing to the design, development, and deployment of modern web applications using React and related technologies. This role offers a unique chance to shape the future of our digital solutions, ensuring they meet high standards of quality, scalability, and user experience.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate a robust technical background with extensive experience in front‐end development. Essential qualifications include proficiency in React, including Remix and React Router, and a strong command of TypeScript and JavaScript. Experience in designing and consuming REST APIs, as well as knowledge of server‐side rendering (SSR) and progressive enhancement, is required. Familiarity with Material UI (MUI), end‐to‐end testing frameworks like Playwright, and working within Scrum‐based Agile teams is essential. A solid understanding of software design principles, development, and deployment processes is vital. Candidates should have excellent time‐management skills and a proven track record of delivering high‐quality solutions on time. Desirable qualifications include exposure to AI or large language model (LLM) tooling, understanding of technical or solution architecture, experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

As a Lead Front End Developer at TXP, your responsibilities will encompass both technical leadership and hands‐on development. You will lead the technical delivery of front‐end components within agile, sprint‐based programmes, ensuring that deliverables meet quality, functionality, and timeline expectations. Your role involves actively contributing to the design, development, testing, defect resolution, and deployment of web applications. You will provide guidance, mentorship, and technical direction to other developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Collaborating closely with Delivery Managers, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, and clients, you will help shape project scope and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals. Upholding TXP's development standards and best practices is crucial, as is escalating risks when necessary. Building strong, trusted relationships with colleagues and stakeholders is essential to ensure smooth project execution. Additionally, you will support the development of team capabilities through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and promoting best practices across projects.
