About The Role
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our team on a 12-month contract basis. This role is based in Manchester with a hybrid working arrangement, offering flexibility between remote work and on-site presence. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing complex datasets, ensuring data integrity, and supporting data-driven decision-making processes. The rate for this position ranges from 450 to 500 inside umbrella per day, reflecting the importance and seniority of the role within our projects.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in data analysis, with proven experience in SQL and Excel.
- A background in data management, data warehousing, or related fields is preferred.
- Candidates should demonstrate excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into clear, actionable insights.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across various functions are essential.
- Relevant certifications or a degree in Data Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Perform source-to-target data mapping across complex datasets, defining transformation rules, dependencies, and timing to ensure accurate data integration.
- Analyze data to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues, and recommend practical and effective solutions to improve data integrity.
- Produce clear, comprehensive, and audit-ready documentation, including mapping specifications, data dictionaries, and assumptions to facilitate transparency and compliance.
- Interrogate and manipulate data using SQL and advanced Excel techniques across file-based and data warehouse environments to support reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate closely with business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), data architects, and technology teams to clarify requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Maintain high attention to detail, considering downstream impacts on reporting, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and operational processes to ensure data reliability and accuracy.
- Participate in project planning, status updates, and stakeholder meetings to ensure alignment and timely delivery of data initiatives.
