About The Company
Experis is recruiting on behalf of an established luxury manufacturing business based in Birmingham. The company is a family business with a strong reputation in its sector and a commitment to investing in its people and future growth. Its Systems and Technology team plays an important role in supporting day-to-day operations and developing the platforms that help the business work effectively.
About The Role
The business is seeking a Senior Python Developer to join its Systems and Technology team. This is a permanent, hands‑on position offering the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful development work and see the practical impact of your solutions. Python will be central to the role, alongside API development, data pipelines, systems integration and automation. You will also contribute to an internal web platform and help identify where AI can deliver useful, measurable value.
You will work closely with technical colleagues and stakeholders across the business to understand operational needs and turn them into reliable, maintainable solutions. The role is based in Birmingham, with working hours of Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Friday, 8:00am to 1:00pm. The salary is £45,000 to £50,000, depending on experience.
Qualifications
You will have at least five years of software development experience and strong, practical Python skills. You should also bring strong SQL skills, experience with data modelling, and a solid understanding of APIs and systems integration. Experience working with data pipelines, cloud deployment and live production systems is important, as is the ability to investigate issues and support reliable applications.
You will be familiar with software testing, version control and CI/CD processes, and able to work independently while communicating technical decisions clearly to colleagues with different levels of technical knowledge. The wider technology environment includes Python, FastAPI, React, TypeScript, SQL, BigQuery, MongoDB and Google Cloud Platform. Experience with every technology is not essential, but confidence working across connected applications and data systems is valuable. Experience with SAP, ERP integration or manufacturing environments would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will develop, maintain and improve Python applications, APIs and integrations, including services built with FastAPI. You will enhance data pipelines, scheduled workflows and SQL models to support dependable reporting and business operations. You will connect internal platforms with ERP systems, helping reduce manual work and improve data quality.
You will investigate and resolve issues across applications, databases, integrations and cloud environments, while contributing to an internal platform developed with React and TypeScript. Working with business stakeholders, you will clarify requirements and recommend practical technical approaches. You will also strengthen testing, deployment, monitoring and documentation practices. Where appropriate, you will deliver automation and AI solutions, ensuring they are tested, validated and assessed against clear business benefits.
