The Job:
As National Head of FNO you will be responsible for the construction and operation of Netomnia’s fibre network across the whole of the UK holding accountability for the leadership, and proactive management of the network deployment and operation. You will manage, coach and support the Heads of Region who manage delivery of several build partners and service partners across multiple regions on a day to day basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and proactively manage build across multiple regions achieving agreed business KPI’s & SLAs to cost, quality and performance targets.
- Support the Regional Heads in programme management, to ensure a robust strategy is in place to not only deliver on time, accurately and budget but to mitigate risks and drive end user customer advocacy.
- Budget management, owning the Project Support Description (PSD) and CPPP per town including Estimated and Actual costs to complete (ETC and EAC) across all L1/2 submissions.
- Identifying synergies and share best practices to drive consistency nationally, improve process and deliver excellent outcomes.
- Manage internal (Finance, Commercial, Business Development) and external stakeholders (councils, local authorities and highways).
- Management of service credit deliverables with checks undertaken across delivery partners for adherence and recovery.
- Provide a point of escalation and issue resolution to your team and stakeholders including the undertaking of 121s and providing coaching and learning opportunities.
- Contribution to exec and business reporting as required (weekly/monthly/quarterly).
- Attend F2F meetings with suppliers as required – improving relationships, striving for excellent performance, improving output and celebrating success.
- Ensuring best value for money through proactive WO/PO review with appropriate action taken by head of region and FNO managers.
- Ensuring risks are highlighted and escalated as appropriate and recorded on the regional/national RAID log.
- Undertaking of RFS verification and fault rectification to assure quality and standards.
- Hold monthly performance meetings with regional heads covering performance of H&S, SLA, AB completion, stock issues, quality audit output, service credit application, commercial issues and delivery performance.
People management of your team:
- Ensuring clear understanding of roles and responsibilities.
- Setting targets and driving accountability.
- Onboarding of new team members to Netomnia and the team.
- Ongoing coaching and mentoring of Netomnia processes and systems.
- Understanding and consideration of people’s wellbeing and team morale.
- Succession planning and business continuity planning due to issues that may arise.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Experience of managing fibre infrastructure build or network deployment projects within telecoms to agreed time, cost and quality targets.
- Detailed knowledge of the methodologies, processes and capabilities required to build network infrastructure or network deployment using partners, contractors and retained teams.
- Ability to adopt a tactical approach to maintain progress to plan, without losing sight of core mission and within the financial envelope.
- Familiarity with contracts and performance management of same.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent ability to manage stakeholders with competing demands both internally and externally across multiple partners with multiple priorities.
- Ability to work autonomously, desire to learn and grow with an ability to prioritise based on business requirements.
- Proactive with ability to anticipate, communicate and resolve issues with minimal guidance – coaching and guiding your team to do the same using critical and challenging thinking skills.
- Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills, a focus on teamwork and customer service with an ability to work across multiple departments.
