Overview
The Installation Engineer will install a fibre connection into the customer, delivering right-first-time installations while maintaining outstanding customer service and updating relevant systems throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Primarily work on customer installations.
- Install into a customer premises, maintaining the highest standard of customer service.
- Manage the tools issued and the vehicle assigned to you as per the vehicle policy.
- Complete assigned tasks on time and manage day-to-day jobs.
- Maintain Health & Safety compliance.
- Work individually and as part of a team to achieve targets and KPIs.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience working in a similar role, on or for Openreach Network.
- Ability to conduct risk assessment and hazard identification, with emphasis on Health and Safety practices.
- Demonstrable experience in a networking engineering environment (preferred).
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Clear and concise communication abilities.
- Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
- Ability to foster excellent working relationships within your team, with your manager, and with other teams, with a strong customer service attitude.
- Proactive approach to improving efficiencies and working smarter.
Requirements
- Must hold a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 12 months.
- SA001, SA002, S7, S8 or equivalent desirable.
- IPAF 1b desirable.
- NRSWA unit 2 (minimum) desirable.
- SMART AWARDS preferable desirable.
- Have telecommunications experience or transferable skills.
