  • Reporting to: Installations Field Manager
  • Hours: Full time, Monday to Saturday, 45hrs a week, 7.30am-5.30pm
  • 1 Saturday Per Month Paid as Overtime
  • Location: Cardiff
  • Salary: £30,100 – £34,000 / year
  • Additional earnings: Target bonus of 20% of salary and extra pay for one Saturday per month, with on-target earnings up to £39,000 per year.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Field Manager, the Installation Engineer installs fibre connections at customer premises, ensuring first-time right installation and excellent customer service, with timely updates to relevant systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primarily work on customer installations.
  • Maintain high customer service standards during installations.
  • Manage tools and vehicle as per policies.
  • Complete tasks on time and manage daily jobs.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance.
  • Work individually and as part of a team to meet targets and KPIs.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably with Openreach Network.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments with health and safety focus.
  • Experience in networking engineering preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Physical fitness for manual handling.
  • Excellent teamwork and customer service attitude.
  • Proactive in improving work efficiency.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving license for at least 12 months.
  • Desirable: SA001, SA002, S7, S8 or equivalent, IPAF 1b, NRSWA unit 2, SMART AWARDS.
  • Telecommunications experience or transferable skills.
