Job Description:

Installation Engineer reporting to Installations Field Manager. Hours: Full time, Monday to Saturday, 45hrs a week, 7.30am-5.30pm. 1 Saturday Per Month Paid as Overtime.

Salary: Competitive starting salary ranging from £30,100 to £34,000, with a target bonus of 20% of salary and extra pay for one additional Saturday per month.

Job Purpose:

Reporting directly to the Field Manager, the Installation Engineer will install fibre connections into customer premises while maintaining outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primarily work on customer installations.
  • Install into customer premises, maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Manage assigned tools and vehicle.
  • Complete tasks on time and manage day-to-day jobs.
  • Maintain H&S compliance.
  • Work individually and as part of a team to achieve targets and KPIs.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Experience working in a similar role, working on or on behalf of the Openreach Network.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessment and hazard identification, with a strong emphasis on Health and Safety practices.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a networking engineering environment (preferred).
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Clear and concise communication abilities.
  • Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
  • Ability to foster excellent working relationships within the team, with the manager, and with other teams within the company, with an excellent customer service attitude.
  • A proactive approach to improving efficiencies and working smarter.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving license for a minimum of 12 months.
  • SA001, SA002, S7, S8 or equivalent (desirable).
  • IPAF 1b (desirable).
  • NRSWA unit 2 (minimum) (desirable).
  • SMART AWARDS (preferable desirable).
  • Telecommunications experience or transferable skills.
