Salary: Competitive starting salary ranging from £30,100 to £34,000 per year.

Location: Barrow-in-Furness

Hours: Full time, Monday to Saturday, 45 hours a week, 7.30am-5.30pm. One Saturday per month paid as overtime.

Description: We are a small team of experts on a mission to bring a reliable, high‑speed fibre network straight to the customer. Founded in 2019, Netomnia is building new FTTP infrastructure across the UK.

Job Purpose: The Installation Engineer reports directly to the Service Delivery Field Manager and is responsible for installing fibre connections into customer premises, ensuring a high‑quality first‑time install and maintaining outstanding customer service. The role also requires updating systems in a timely manner throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primarily work on customer installations.
  • Install fibre into a customer premises, maintaining the highest standard of customer service.
  • Manage the tools issued and the vehicle assigned to you as per our vehicle policy.
  • Complete assigned tasks on time and manage day‑to‑day jobs.
  • Maintain H&S compliance.
  • Work individually and as part of a team to achieve targets and KPIs.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Experience working in a similar role, on or on behalf of the Openreach Network.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessment and hazard identification, with a strong emphasis on Health and Safety practices.
  • Demonstrable experience and a proven track record working in a networking engineering environment (preferred).
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Clear and concise communication abilities.
  • Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
  • Ability to foster excellent working relationships within your team, with your manager, and with other teams, with an excellent customer service attitude.
  • A proactive approach to improving efficiencies and working smarter.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 12 months.
  • SA001, SA002, S7, S8 or equivalent are desirable.
  • IPAF 1b is desirable.
  • NRSWA unit 2 (minimum) desirable.
  • SMART AWARDS preferable (desirable).
  • Have telecommunications experience or transferable skills.
