The Fleet Manager will be a strong communicator with the drive to build on a newly established fleet capability, lead a team of fleet professionals, collaborate cross-functionally with suppliers and other business units, and make decisions to create value.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Group Director of Procurement, execute the Group Fleet strategy and oversee the operational management of 300 company vehicles.
- Be data driven and proficient in consuming and acting on management information.
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for the efficient, safe, and cost-effective management of all vehicles and mobile assets across the business. You will lead a team of fleet professionals and collaborate cross-functionally to support all companies within the Group, achieve sustainability goals and ensure regulatory compliance.
Leadership
- Assist with and implement the Group fleet strategy in alignment with business objectives
- Lead fleet transformation initiatives to improve and scale the department and attain Environmental, Social and Governance goals
- Provide expert guidance on fleet procurement, lifecycle management, and asset optimisation
Operational Management
- Oversee day-to-day fleet operations including vehicle allocation, maintenance, and utilisation
- Ensure high standards of vehicle availability, reliability, and performance
- Manage relationships with leasing providers, service partners, and technology vendors
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, health & safety standards, and environmental regulations
- Lead the development and enforcement of fleet policies and driver behaviour programmes
- Maintain accurate records of audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting
Financial Oversight
- Own the fleet budget, including forecasting, cost control, and value optimisation
- Monitor fuel usage, maintenance spend, and total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing fleet team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance standards
- Support professional development and succession planning
Management Information
- Produce and act upon key fleet management information
