Job Purpose: Reporting directly to the Field Manager, the Installation Engineer will be installing a fibre connection into the customer. The Installation Engineer has a key role in installing right first time whilst maintaining an outstanding customer service for our customers, updating relevant systems in a timely manner throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primarily work on customer installations, maintaining the highest standard of customer service.
- Manage the tools issued and the vehicle assigned to you as per our vehicle policy.
- Complete assigned tasks on time and manage day-to-day jobs.
- Maintaining H&S compliance.
- Work individually and as part of a team to achieve targets and KPIs.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Experience working in a similar role, working on or on behalf of the Openreach Network.
- Ability to conduct risk assessment and hazard identification, with a strong emphasis on Health and Safety practices.
- Demonstrable experience and a proven track record working in a networking engineering environment (preferred).
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Clear and concise communication abilities.
- Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
- Ability to foster excellent working relationships within your team, with your manager, and with other teams within the company, with an excellent customer service attitude.
- A proactive approach to improving efficiencies and working smarter.
Requirements:
- Must hold a full UK driving Licence for minimum 12 months.
- SA001, SA002, S7, S8 or equivalent are desirable.
- IPAF 1b are desirable.
- NRSWA unit 2 (minimum) desirable.
- SMART AWARDS preferable desirable.
- Have telecommunications experience or transferable skills.
