The Installation Engineer will install fibre connections into customers’ premises, ensuring right‑first‑time installations while maintaining outstanding customer service and updating relevant systems in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work primarily on customer installations.
  • Install fibre into customer premises, maintaining the highest standard of customer service.
  • Manage the tools issued and the vehicle assigned to you as per our vehicle policy.
  • Complete assigned tasks on time and manage day‑to‑day jobs.
  • Maintain H&S compliance.
  • Work individually and as part of a team to achieve targets and KPIs.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Experience working in a similar role, working on or on behalf of the Openreach Network.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessment and hazard identification, with a strong emphasis on health and safety practices.
  • Demonstrable experience and a proven track record working in a networking engineering environment (preferred).
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Clear and concise communication abilities.
  • Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
  • Ability to foster excellent working relationships within your team, with your manager, and with other teams within the company, with an excellent customer service attitude.
  • A proactive approach to improving efficiencies and working smarter.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 12 months.
  • SA001, SA002, S7, S8 or equivalent are desirable.
  • IPAF 1b is desirable.
  • NRSWA unit 2 (minimum) desirable.
  • SMART AWARDS preferable desirable.
  • Have telecommunications experience or transferable skills.
