The children, staff and governors of Nether Green Infant School are looking to appoint an outstanding, enthusiastic and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant. This is a great opportunity to become part of our wonderful and inclusive school. The successful candidate will join a strong and supportive team and contribute to the school’s calm, nurturing, and positive approach. The postholder will work alongside the class teacher in a class of up to 30 pupils in Reception or KS1, supporting the teaching and learning of all children.
Visits to our school to meet our fabulous children and highly skilled staff team are warmly welcomed. Candidates can visit on Monday 1st June or Wednesday 3rd June at 3:45pm, and Thursday 4th June at 9:00am. Please ring the school office on 0114 2304094 to confirm your place.
You must:
- Have a minimum Level 3 qualification for Early Years or KS1 or equivalent
- Have experience of working with children with SEND
- Have experience of supporting children with a range of needs, including Autism and Speech and Language difficulties
- Have a good understanding of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum and have experience of working with children in this age group
- Understand how the fundamental skills of reading, writing and Maths develop within EYFS and KS1
- Value the contribution of play to young children’s learning and development
- Be flexible and willing to adapt in order to meet the individual needs of the children and achieve the best outcomes
- Be willing to work closely with other professionals and implement advice and strategies to support individual children
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Enjoy working with young children
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team or use your own initiative when required
- Be able to develop positive working relationships with children, parents and staff
- Be committed, enthusiastic and willing to undertake further training and professional development
