The Brand Creative Studio is an in-house team dedicated to identifying and creating culturally relevant and commercially rewarding ways for Netflix, and our partners, to delight our fans - in the UK and across EMEA. With a team of specialists across Strategy, Creative, Design and Production, we develop culturally impactful campaigns in partnership with creatively ambitious and loved brands (e.g. Just Eat, KFC, e.l.f. Beauty), that live both within and outside of the Netflix ecosystem.
Over the past few years, our partnership proposition to brands has evolved, with the introduction of the ad-supported subscription tier, which enables brands to reach highly attentive audiences, on a premium platform, via a less-intrusive advertising experience members have opted in to. The ongoing expansion of the Netflix owned & operated spaces brands are now able to add into the partnerships we create; from our world-leading socials, to premieres & experiences, to our growing slate of Live entertainment.
We are seeking a Brand/Creative Strategist with experience working on brands from various categories. The role will focus on developing and leading end-to-end creative strategy for many of our Brand Partnerships in the UK, as well as helping the team explore the future of brand and entertainment partnerships. You will be joining an established (and growing) team tasked with delivering creative excellence and diversifying the many ways in which Netflix works with brands.
You will own creative campaigns for Netflix UK’s major Brand Partnerships on key titles - pitching, developing and executing creative for partner programs that will help us deepen fan engagement and create conversation around our biggest and most-loved content as it launches. This will involve working closely with our EMEA Marketing Partnerships Strategy Lead, as well as our wider cross-functional team of marketers in our partners’ businesses, across a range of categories Top-tier Creative and Media agencies.
Whilst this role will be based in, and focused on Brand Partnerships in, the UK - we are a collaborative team across EMEA, and there will be plenty of opportunities to work with our other key markets and business units. We believe this role is ideal for someone with a passion for entertainment and a professional desire to create some of the world’s most creative partnerships.
The successful candidate will have deep experience building and implementing a strategic approach with partners, and owning creative strategy, from research to audience insight to brief development through to execution.
Key responsibilities:- Building the strategic vision for key brand partnerships, across a selection of titles launching in the UK
- Extracting insights from partners and internal marketing teams to develop and steer the strategic & creative vision into ideas that fans will love and engage with
- Writing strategies and briefs, and building foundational concepts that reflect the strategic intersection between the partner and the title or IP
- Providing guidance and feedback to creative partners, both internal and external
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams including (but not limited to) Title Marketing, Ads Measurement, Consumer Products, Consumer Insight and Content
- Development of memos that can provide clear, ambitious and articulate thinking to inform and guide major decisions or voice opinions that can be shared within the broader Netflix Marketing Org (and sometimes beyond)
- 8 or more years of experience as a brand strategist/consultant or similarly strategic role (can be at a brand or creative agency)
- Belief in the power of strategy to help unlock (effective) creative thinking and solutions
- Demonstrated experience leading and driving creative strategy with well-known brands and their leaders
- Demonstrated ability to use research, insights and analytics to inform strategy
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and drive results
- Effective presentation skills and (strong) communication skills
- Comfortable collaborating with senior executives from inside and outside of Netflix
- Clear and articulate writer, who is comfortable crafting a narrative and evidencing a point of view, often developing points of view despite some ambiguity or uncertainty
- A strong interest in entertainment and brands & concepting unique marketing campaigns
- Strategic, forward-thinking, highly organized, effective communicator, and able to adapt to a dynamic environment
- Able to work independently as well as part of a broader team
- High level of curiosity with the desire to rise to the occasion in the face of ambiguity
