The Product Merchandising Team UK and Nordics positions our local award-winning, industry-leading content for distribution on the Netflix service through our work on individual titles as well as the broader catalogue in our markets.
The Role Product Merchandising blends intuitive merchandising strategy and deep local expertise to position, promote, and present content - making it easy and enjoyable for every Netflix member to choose what they'll love.
We're blending global scale with deep local expertise, and we're looking for people who can bring both.
As a Creative Merchandiser, you shape the merchandising experience for Netflix members in your markets - across creative, editorial, and catalog dimensions.
You are a platform-first impact driver: someone who shapes how the Netflix experience looks, reads, and feels for members in the UK across every surface, every content format, and every moment.
What You'll Do
- Shape the Local Member Experience
- Drive the local UK merchandising calendar - planning activations around title launches, cultural moments, seasonal trends, and member lifecycle milestones throughout the year.
- Lead distribution and promotion strategy for local title launches - from positioning and merchandising strategy through to post-launch performance.
- Propose, develop and execute catalog activations (rows, hubs, custom promotions) that drive content discovery and reflect what resonates culturally with consumers in your market.
- Develop messaging campaigns - push notifications, emails - that connect members to content they'll love, timed to the moments and titles that matter locally.
- Editorialize catalog content beyond new launches to support member engagement, surfacing library titles and hidden gems at the right point in the member journey.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive business impact at the local level through this work.
- Connect the dots between platform logic, consumer insights, and content strategy to drive strong merchandising activations and learning agendas.
- Apply deep awareness of local trends, social and cultural zeitgeist, and platform behavior to shape what gets surfaced, when, and how - in close partnership with Marketing and Comms.
- Advocate for your market's needs in regional and global conversations, sharing context that cross-functional partners cannot access without you.
- Work closely with Content, Marketing, Product teams, and external agency partners to proactively share context, surface trade-offs, and align on priorities to deliver a cohesive member experience.
- Operate within global governance frameworks and playbooks, ensuring local activations complement the global calendar.
- Act as the local intelligence layer to surface on-the-ground market insights and trends, and contribute to playbooks and standards that can be scaled across markets in partnership with local Consumer Insights and Content Strategy.
- Creative & Editorial Partner with local marcomms on Product Title Creative Assets for priority titles, using external agencies where additional assets may be required.
Briefing and reviewing imagery, copy, and promotional materials.
Ensure Product Assets across image, AV and copy adhere to Netflix's standards for quality, consistency, and local authenticity.
Operate within the global Merchandising Playbook while driving locally resonant decisions.
Use AV where needed to deepen member engagement across the title lifecycle and provide clear, actionable feedback to ensure output meets positioning, creative guidelines, and timelines.
Partner with Creative Services and Design to ensure assets perform across all devices, with particular mastery of mobile as a primary discovery canvas in the UK.
Optimize consumer messaging (email, push, in-app notifications) that feels genuinely individual - tailored to member behavior and lifestyle signals, not generic promotional copy.
Turn Data into insights to drive better experiences Partner with regional Performance Analysts and Technical Merchandising to monitor and report on activations at the local level.
Ensure hypotheses created at the local level are reflected in data gathered post launch.
Contribute to A/B testing and experimentation, using data, dashboards, analytics tools alongside qualitative market insight to continuously improve the member experience.
- Think in business outcomes, not just creative outputs: track and communicate the impact of merchandising decisions on member engagement, viewing behavior, and platform health metrics to your peers and cross-functional partners.
- Write clear, well-reasoned strategic briefs that articulate the why behind your activation decisions and earn alignment from partners and leadership.
- Fluency in business metrics and translating them to merchandising strategy.
- You understand the UK business inside out, think member-first, and know how to bridge both to achieve ambitious business impact.
- Work at pace: move from concept to live activation quickly while maintaining quality and intentionality.
What We're Looking For
- A proven ability to engage customers via digital promotional and/or merchandising tactics, driving product engagement in an authentic and culturally relevant manner.
Deep cultural fluency in the UK and curiosity to learn about new ones.
You understand what resonates, what's trending, and what UK members respond to.
- A strong track record of using data to make decisions - you're comfortable reading consumer insight studies, dashboards, spotting patterns, and translating insights into action.
Experience writing strategic briefs: you can define a problem clearly, build hypotheses, stress-test your own assumptions before making a recommendation with conviction, and bring stakeholders along.
- Operational excellence: you're organized and accurate under high-volume, fast-moving conditions.
Think in systems: you instinctively connect content, members, product behavior, and market context into a coherent picture, and you know which questions to ask to fill in the gaps before forming a view.
A collaborative approach: you work well across functions, time zones, and seniority levels, and you know when to push back and when to align.
Genuinely love entertainment: you are an avid consumer of content across film, series, and beyond, and you bring real passion and taste to the work.
Native or full professional fluency in [local language(s)] and English; mastery of [local] editorial and cultural standards.
