Leidos is seeking a Project Manager to support large-scale enterprise application initiatives for an Investor-Owned Utility client in Newark, New Jersey. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and implementing complex projects across the corporate apps area, with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, risk, testing, stakeholder communication, and overall project execution. The position is onsite in Newark, NJ three days per week, and candidates must be within commutable distance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, monitor, and implement complex large-scale projects to meet organizational goals.
  • Direct project team personnel, manage cost and schedule, ensure contract compliance, and serve as the customer interface.
  • Manage technical, cost, and schedule performance of assigned tasks or functions.
  • Lead project team members through the full project lifecycle, from vision to implementation.
  • Create project management plans, set expectations, execute governance reviews, and ensure project plans align with organizational procedures.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, goals, and deliverables.
  • Ensure requirements are gathered, documented, reviewed, and approved in accordance with organizational and PMO standards.
  • Work with the assigned scheduler to create a work breakdown structure covering all activities required for project deliverables.
  • Manage project budget, maintain financial plans, track actuals versus plan, provide monthly forecasts, and report monthly accruals.
  • Establish and deliver written and verbal project communications, including weekly status reports, dashboards, and project updates.
  • Actively monitor and manage tasks, timelines, milestones, quality, and deliverables across the project.

Required Technical Skills

  • Project management experience handling Project Financials, Schedules, Scope, and Testing.
  • Understanding and prior experience with Project Management and Project Management Office processes and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.
  • Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, accruals, and financial planning.
  • Experience developing work breakdown structures, governance reviews, and project management plans.
  • Ability to gather, document, review, and manage requirements in accordance with PMO standards.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Background in corporate apps such as SAP, HR, AI, etc.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related degree with 5–7 years of experience as a Project Manager. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, partnerships, and external networks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively in a collaborative team environment while keeping the team informed.
  • Demonstrated customer-facing skills.
  • Demonstrated research, decision-making, organizational, analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection and other applicable guidelines.
  • Must be in commutable distance to Newark, NJ and able to work onsite 3 days per week.
