At this level, you will be expected to:
- Support the planning and delivery of user research across digital projects, using a range of methods with guidance from senior researchers.
- Learn and apply the Government Digital Service (GDS) design principles and similar standards used in the UK public sector, with access to training and mentoring.
- Carry out user research activities such as interviews, usability testing, surveys, and desk research, under appropriate supervision.
- Help teams understand the diversity of users by supporting inclusive research practices, advocating for accessibility, and considering the needs of different user groups.
- Assist in analysing research data to identify patterns, user needs, and pain points.
- Present research findings in a clear and engaging way, tailored to different audiences.
- Build rapport with users and work collaboratively with product managers, designers, developers, and other team members.
- Develop an understanding of user-centred design and agile ways of working, and learn how to apply them in delivery teams.
- Show curiosity, empathy, and a willingness to learn and grow as a User Researcher.
This is a role designed to help you grow into a confident and independent User Researcher. You will be supported through:
- A dedicated training budget for formal courses

Qualifications:
- Around 1–2 years of experience in user research, social or academic research, or a related discipline with transferable skills.
- Some practical experience of conducting qualitative and/or quantitative methods (e.g. usability testing, interviews, surveys, desk research).
- Full right to work in the UK.
- Eligible for Security Clearance.
- Work to a Hybrid working model.
