Responsible for implementing and supporting improvements, enhancing efficiency, enhancing software quality, and accelerating delivery times with a focus on people, processes, and tools that take a unified customer/user focus in a multi-disciplinary team with Development, QA, IT Operations, InfoSec, UCD, etc., all working together to achieve a common goal of applying best practices in DevOps.

You will work in our APS (Application Support) team, where you will learn about the different platforms and products we support in the UK. You will be responsible for a mix of development, DevOps, and support, and will be part of an on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Experience of DevOps tooling, containers and containerisation
  • Communication: Able to speak to stakeholders and transfer business requirements into technical implementation
  • Facilitate information/business knowledge: Able to act as a business SME and understand what the business needs and how to support this into an efficient DevOps team.
  • Stakeholder Management: Able to negotiate and influence with stakeholders to ensure the service runs effectively and efforts are placed correctly.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of AWS and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance
  • Practical experience using Terraform and Kubernetes
  • Experience in Java
  • Experienced with multiple ecosystem databases, architecture and integration
  • Experience with monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Kubernetes & Helm: Strong understanding of container orchestration with Kubernetes and package management using Helm.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud.
  • CI/CD: Proficiency in setting up and maintaining pipelines, particularly with Jenkins.
  • Database Management: Experience with schema change management (e.g., Liquibase).
  • GitOps: Understanding of GitOps principles.
  • Core Principles: A mindset focused on automation, proactive monitoring, continuous improvement, and defining best practices.
