Responsible for implementing and supporting improvements, efficiency, enhancing software quality, and accelerating delivery times. Having the shared responsibility between development/operations with a focus on people, process, and tools that take a unified customer/user focus. In a multi-disciplinary team with Development, QA, IT Operations, InfoSec, and UCD, all working together to achieve a common goal of applying best practice in DevOps.
Key Responsibilities
- Extensive experience of DevOps tooling, containers and containerisation
- Communication: Ability to speak with stakeholders and be able to transfer business requirements into technical implementation
- Facilitate information/business knowledge: Able to act as a business SME and understand what the business needs and how to support this into an efficient DevOps team.
- Stakeholder Management: Able to negotiate and influence stakeholders to ensure the service runs effectively and efforts are placed correctly.
Qualifications
- 5+ Years working as a DevOps Engineer
- Strong knowledge of AWS, CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance
- Experience using Terraform (infrastructure as code), Kubernetes and Helm
- Experience in Python
- Experienced with multiple ecosystem databases, architecture and integration
- Experience with monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Database Management: Experience with schema change management (e.g., Liquibase).
- Ability to write automation scripts in Python
- Knowledge of GitOps principles
- Experience working within the public sector/central government is beneficial
- Must have a willingness to travel
- Must have the right to work in the UK
- Must be able to attain a UK Security Clearance
