We have an exciting opportunity for a Bid Manager to join our growing business development team. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the end-to-end bid lifecycle with a focus on framework opportunities and own the delivery of winning bids. You will be a natural coach who thrives on achieving a high quality output. You’ll also play a key role in driving improvements across our bid function including processes, framework education, tools, and content – so we get better every time.
The role is highly networked requiring an ability to manage and motivate a matrix managed team and requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines. The role requires excellent organisational, attention to detail, commercial skills, planning, interpersonal and people management skills with strong business acumen. There will be a particular focus on the public sector (e.g. central/local government, NHS, etc.) and major frameworks such as G-Cloud, DOS, TS, DALS etc.
Skilled in analysing requirements and collaborating with subject matter experts, both technical and non-technical, with experience in writing high-quality copy, tailored to the audience.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all bids framework to ensure successful appointment.
- Lead and manage the full end to end bid lifecycle.
- Manage complex, multi-disciplinary bid teams to deliver high-quality responses to strict deadlines.
- Ensure all submissions meet client requirements and internal governance standards.
- Support internal knowledge sharing.
- Ability to identify risks and propose solutions to mitigate.
- Accountable for driving the increase in quality of submissions.
- Identify and educate the wider function around the use of frameworks.
- Work with Sector Leads to develop, coach and agree win strategy and themes, executive summaries, and validation of our value proposition.
- Understand customer requirements and translate our capabilities and case studies into compelling responses.
- Manage assigned opportunities through the Decision gates.
- Participation in supplier days and presentations where appropriate.
- Review and edit bid responses for consistency, compliance, win theme incorporation, solution accuracy, and other elements during regular and core team review cycles to create the final bid submission.
- Create presentations using PowerPoint and coach individuals and teams on presentation best practice.
- Support management of inbox requests.
- 3+ years in a bid role in technology industry.
- Demonstrable experience and capability in delivering winning bids and successfully gaining a place on multiple frameworks.
- Knowledge of bidding best practice techniques, e.g., APMP.
- Excellent English language writing skills, both technical and non-technical, with experience in writing high-quality copy, tailored to the audience.
- Exceptional organisational and project management skills, with an ability to manage a diverse range of tasks, involving different people and different activities to tight deadlines.
- Highly computer literate across the office software.
- Confident communicator both verbally, written and visually.
- Expert ability to communicate and support value proposition.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management.
- Ability to create original content using interview and research techniques.
- Commercial understanding.
