We’re hiring for an IT Support Engineer to join one of our fast-growing IT consulting clients.

This is a great opportunity to build on your existing IT skills and experience through a tailored 7-week training pathway. The programme combines technical development with highly valued consultancy skills, delivered virtually through a varied and collaborative programme. You'll work alongside your future colleagues and complete projects as you learn.

On successful completion of the training, you'll join our client in Farnborough as an IT Support Engineer, working in an important client-facing environment.

What do we look for in a Support Engineer?

We're looking for someone with a solid foundation of practical IT experience, gained through an IT apprenticeship, service desk, desktop support, IT technician or similar role.

You’ll need good core technical knowledge, a practical approach to troubleshooting and the confidence to work directly with users and represent yourself professionally on a client site.

You don't need to know everything that's what the training is for - but you should have a strong technical foundation to build upon.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first response to tickets, calls, emails and monitoring events
  • Engage with users face-to-face
  • Perform initial triage of incidents and requests
  • Escalate tickets to 2nd and 3rd line engineers as required
  • Onboarding and offboarding of internal and customer users
  • Support user accounts, access and permissions
  • Build, deploy and troubleshoot end-user devices (EUDs)
  • Test, build and track physical assets including EUDs and servers

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of Windows 10/11 and macOS
  • Understanding of computer components and physical hardware, including desktops, laptops and servers
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts
  • Azure/Microsoft 365 user and device administration
  • Intune and Jamf administration
  • Active Directory user and group administration

£26,436.80 whilst training

£27,000 on successful completion of training

£30,000 after 12 months on client site

UK Security Clearance

Due to the secure nature of the position and working environment, you must have or be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.

Transport

A frequent shuttle bus runs from Farnborough rail station to Cody Technology Park, where our client is located.
