Requirements:



  • We are looking for someone who wants to build on the skills and knowledge gained through a degree or equivalent training.

  • We need someone with a passion for solving technical problems.

  • We require experience or knowledge in Windows Server 2016+ administration.

  • We require experience or knowledge in VMware vSphere/vCenter/VCF, Azure, and Microsoft 365 administration.

  • We require experience or knowledge in Linux, including CentOS, RedHat, or Ubuntu.

  • We require experience or knowledge in PowerShell.

  • We require experience or knowledge in EUD provisioning (Autopilot), maintenance, patching, and hardening.

  • We require understanding of SSO concepts and operation.

  • We require understanding of working in protectively marked environments.

  • We would prefer knowledge of Kubernetes administration, for example VMware TKGI DevSecOps tooling.

  • We would prefer knowledge of Elastic, Nessus, application packaging, HashiCorp Terraform, and Vault.

  • We would prefer experience working in Agile sprints.

  • We require that you have or are eligible to obtain Security Clearance.

  • We require the ability to commute to Farnborough or relocate before starting work.

  • We require work authorisation in the United Kingdom.


Responsibilities:



  • Maintain, improve, and secure our multi-classification, virtualised, collaboration, and development environments.

  • Work with our IT infrastructure colleagues to improve our Secure by Design capabilities internally and across projects.

  • Provide infrastructure support to public cloud SaaS offerings such as Office 365, as well as project-based systems across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.

  • Perform infrastructure maintenance tasks through change control.

  • Assist with monitoring and management of project-based ticketing and alerting systems for new changes and security alerts.

  • Triage monitoring alerts and take appropriate action.

  • Maintain monitoring components in line with infrastructure developments.

  • Ensure all platforms are patched in line with provider recommendations and our security policy.

  • Assess the impact of incidents quickly and accurately, initiate return to service, and ensure follow-up actions are completed.

  • Identify trends and problems and plan changes to improve stability and performance.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in secure public, private, and hybrid cloud and network technologies.

  • Develop personal knowledge through study and research toward vocational certifications in relevant technologies and vendors.

  • Advise customers and project teams on infrastructure and support matters.

  • Share knowledge through articles for our team and wider organisation.

  • Support our team in winning business.

We are hiring a Junior Infrastructure Engineer for an onsite role in Farnborough, Hampshire, following a 6 to 7 week fully remote training pathway delivered by our expert training team. The role offers a salary of £19,500 during training, increasing to £27,000 on client assignment and to £30,000 after 12 months on client site. This is an in-person position in Farnborough, and you must have or be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
