NETbuilder is a leading software engineering company specializing in cutting-edge professional services, managed services, and enablement solutions. We develop some of the industry’s most skilled and high-performing engineers, who work with some of the world’s largest enterprises. With a global presence, we operate across multiple industries, bringing expertise in Digital, Observability, Automation, Data, Cybersecurity, and Cloud.
The group goes to market through a mix of direct enterprise selling and technology-partner ecosystems (e.g Cribl, Crowdstrike, Pega, ServiceNow, Dynatrace). NETbuilder is two years into a Private Equity ownership cycle and has recently acquired a business in the US while actively pursuing further M&A in both the US and EMEA. The NETbuilder group has been through a period of revenue growth, both organic and acquisitive, and is looking to grow from current turnover of $40m to $100m+, seeking an experienced CRO that can be integral in that growth story.
As part of the Executive Team reporting into the Group CEO based in London, the CRO will represent a company known for its world-class consultants and services.
The Role
As the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at NETbuilder, you will be responsible for creating a cohesive, high-performance revenue organization that is scalable and relentlessly focused on achieving ambitious growth targets. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of building a world-class team, refining go-to-market strategies, and instilling a culture of accountability and success. You will be a key voice on the executive leadership team, shaping the company’s overall strategy and contributing to its long-term vision.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic Revenue Leadership: Develop, articulate, and execute a comprehensive and integrated revenue strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives and financial goals. This includes setting ambitious yet achievable revenue targets, defining key performance indicators (KPIs), and establishing a framework for predictable forecasting.
- Continuously evaluate and refine the company’s GTM strategy, including market segmentation, ideal customer profiles, pricing, packaging, and channel strategy (direct, channel partners, alliances).
- Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing critical insights and data-driven recommendations to inform company-wide strategy, product roadmap, and investment decisions.
- Team Building and Mentorship: Recruit, train, and develop a world-class global revenue team. Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning across sales, marketing, and customer success.
- Lead all aspects of the global sales organization, including enterprise sales, mid-market, inside sales, and sales engineering. Implement and optimize sales processes, methodologies and performance management systems to maximize productivity and success.
- Pipeline and Funnel Management: Oversee the entire sales funnel from lead generation to close. Work closely with marketing to ensure a healthy and growing pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.
- Marketing and Sales Alignment: Own the marketing department and ensure seamless alignment on messaging, demand generation campaigns, content strategy, and lead qualification processes. Ensure marketing ROI is maximized in terms of revenue contribution.
- Customer Success and Retention: Own the entire customer lifecycle post-initial sale. Develop and lead the customer success function to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, adoption, retention, and expansion (upsell/cross-sell), ultimately maximizing customer lifetime value (CLV).
- Revenue Operations (RevOps): Build and lead a sophisticated RevOps function to provide the data, analytics, processes, and technology stack (CRM, marketing automation, etc.) required to drive efficiency and informed decision-making across the entire revenue organization.
- Data-Driven Forecasting and Reporting: Implement rigorous forecasting methodologies and provide regular, transparent reporting on revenue performance, pipeline health, and key metrics to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Channel and Partner Ecosystem: Design and scale a strategic channel and alliance program, building mutually beneficial relationships with VARs, MSSPs, technology partners, and system integrators to extend market reach and accelerate growth.
Candidate Profile:
- A minimum of 15+ years of professional experience, with at least 7-10 years in a senior revenue leadership role (e.g., CRO, SVP of Global Sales).
- Overseen rapid growth in a $10m-$100m turnover business.
- Background includes either a VAR or a niche consultancy practice, with overlap with a NETbuilder partner heavily preferred (Cribl, Crowdstrike, Pega, ServiceNow, Dynatrace).
- Go-to-Market Mastery: Experience designing and executing multi-channel GTM strategies, including direct enterprise sales, inside sales, and building a successful channel partner program from the ground up.
- Operational Rigor: Expertise in building and managing a data-driven revenue engine. Deep proficiency with modern sales and marketing technology stacks (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, SalesLoft, Marketo).
- Global Experience: Experience managing geographically dispersed, global teams and executing international expansion strategies is strongly preferred.
- Inspirational Leadership: A natural leader and mentor with a history of attracting, developing, and retaining top-tier talent. Must be able to inspire and motivate teams to achieve extraordinary results.
- Strategic Acumen: The ability to think strategically and translate high-level corporate strategy into actionable plans and tangible results.
