Are you an experienced Warehouse Team Leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys getting the best out of people? We're looking for a hands-on leader to take ownership of the Picking & Packing operation within a growing FMCG business in Mid-Kent. This is an opportunity to make a real impact by driving performance, improving processes and helping shape the future of the warehouse operation.

As our client's business continues to grow, we're supporting them on an exciting journey to transform their order fulfilment process from a five-day lead time to next-day delivery. To achieve this, we need someone who can motivate a team, improve productivity, challenge existing ways of working and champion continuous improvement.

The Role

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day operation of the Picking & Packing department, ensuring customer orders are picked accurately, packed efficiently and dispatched on time. You'll be responsible for developing your team, introducing meaningful KPIs, improving warehouse performance and creating a positive, accountable culture focused on operational excellence.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead, coach and develop a busy Picking & Packing team.
  • Create a positive, high-performing and engaged working environment.
  • Drive improvements in picking accuracy, productivity and on-time dispatch.
  • Support the business transition towards next-day delivery.
  • Implement, monitor and report on warehouse KPIs.
  • Conduct regular 1-2-1s, coaching sessions and performance reviews.
  • Manage performance fairly and effectively where required.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Analyse warehouse data and produce operational reports.
  • Use MRP/ERP systems to monitor performance and support decision-making.
  • Work closely with Production, Planning and Customer Service teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Resolve day-to-day operational issues quickly and effectively.
  • Maintain excellent standards of Health & Safety, housekeeping and quality.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys being busy, leads with energy and takes pride in developing successful teams. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience leading a warehouse Picking & Packing team.
  • Experience within FMCG, manufacturing or a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • A proven track record of improving warehouse performance and productivity.
  • Forklift Licence.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Experience implementing and managing KPIs.
  • Confidence managing performance through coaching and regular 1-2-1s.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems and warehouse reporting tools.
  • A hands-on attitude with the willingness to support the wider operation when needed.
