My client based in Biggin Hill is looking to recruit a Trainee Mechanical Aviation Engineer to join their team on a full time perm basis. They pride themselves on progression and fantastic training where you will have constant access to your trainer. This role is suitable for someone who has a real passion for engineering or aviation, wants to work on aircraft and complete qualifications to become a qualified Engineer in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to health and safety procedures and aviation regulations, understanding the tight regulations and compliance that comes with it.
  • Keep the workshop area clean and well maintained, including organising parts for maintenance and the stores area.
  • Engage with regular on the job training and understand the types of incidents that happen and how to prevent them.
  • Carry out maintenance tasks on the aircraft under supervision ensuring attention to detail.
  • Learn all aspects of the aircraft including ground operations, refuelling, cleaning and movement of aircraft in a safe space.
  • Complete and take part in relevant academic modules to become a qualified engineer.

Requirements

  • A real interest in Engineering, having completed it at A level or college, having possibly done some work experience.
  • Experience of using a range of hand tools from your education.
  • An interest in the aviation industry and wanting to complete qualifications to become a qualified engineer.
  • An outgoing and keen nature to learn.
  • Reliable and someone who likes to meet deadlines.
