Technical Manager Headcorn Mon-Fri Up to £55k Perm My clients who are a leading player in the food production industry are currently looking for a reliable and experienced Technical Manager to oversee food safety and quality across their site. The Technical Manager will be responsible for leading food safety and quality processes across a busy food production site. The role involves making sure that all products are safe, high-quality, and meet both legal requirements and customer expectations. This is a practical, hands-on role with team management responsibilities, working closely with production to ensure high standards are maintained throughout. Key Responsibilities for the Technical Manager Ensure all food produced is safe and meets high quality standards. Lead and support the QA and technical team, helping them perform at their best. Make sure food safety systems comply with industry regulations, customer standards, and certifications (e.g., BRCGS). Investigate and solve food safety or quality issues using data and root cause analysis. Be the main point of contact for technical matters with customers-communicate clearly and professionally. Support new product introductions by ensuring all safety and technical requirements are met. Promote a strong food safety culture on site and assist with training. Keep technical documents and quality systems audit-ready at all times. Manage raw material approval and maintain good supplier relationships. What My Client is Looking For: A degree in a food science or related subject. Experience working in food manufacturing with strong knowledge of food safety (HACCP required). Customer Audits. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor teams. Confidence dealing with all levels of staff, including customers and senior management. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. A proactive and solutions-focused attitude.
