We are working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Maidstone and seeking a commercially focused Financial Controller to lead financial management and reporting activities within a production environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys operating at both strategic and operational levels, contributing to financial governance while supporting business growth and operational decision-making.
The Financial Controller will take ownership of financial reporting, controls, and day-to-day finance operations within a growing, UK and internationally focused manufacturing business. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with operational and commercial teams while helping to strengthen financial processes and reporting capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, including group and multi-currency reporting, maintaining balance sheet control and cash flow forecasting, and leading budgeting and forecasting processes.
- The role also oversees day-to-day finance operations, including stock, WIP and manufacturing cost controls, while supporting month-end and year-end close.
- You will coordinate external audits, ensure strong financial controls and compliance, and provide reporting and financial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
- The successful candidate will need to be ACCA or ACA qualified (or equivalent) with strong accounting and finance experience, including time spent within a similar role.
- Strong financial reporting and management accounts experience is essential, ideally within a manufacturing, engineering or project-based environment with exposure to stock, WIP and cost accounting.
- You will have strong Excel and financial systems skills, excellent communication abilities, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing organisation.
- Experience with multi-entity or international accounting, ERP systems or finance process improvements would be advantageous.
On offer is a salary of between 55,000 and 65,000 DOE plus a range of company benefits.
