The Company

Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of innovative traffic management and access control solutions, operating across the UK. They design, manufacture, install, service and support intelligent, low-carbon road safety systems used nationwide. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing business at a key stage of its expansion. You'll work with innovative technology, enjoy a varied field-based role and play an integral part in delivering industry-leading traffic management solutions across the UK.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on role combining equipment delivery and collection, installation and commissioning, servicing, maintenance and repair. Working across customer sites throughout the UK, you'll be responsible for ensuring equipment is installed, maintained and operating safely and efficiently while delivering an excellent level of customer service. This position would suit someone who is practical, technically minded and self-motivated, and who enjoys working both independently and as part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and collect equipment from customer sites.
  • Install, commission and test equipment to ensure it is operating correctly.
  • Carry out customer demonstrations and provide basic operator training.
  • Represent the business professionally while on customer sites.
  • Inspect, diagnose, service and repair equipment ready for future hire.
  • Carry out fault finding on low-voltage DC systems, electronic components, solar-powered equipment and mechanical assemblies.
  • Complete digital inspection reports, fault logs, photographs and job sheets accurately.
  • Work in accordance with ISO 9001 quality procedures and HSEQ standards.
  • Follow RAMS and all site-specific health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records using the company's job management and asset tracking systems.
  • Complete monthly stock checks for depot and vehicle inventory.
  • Maintain accountability for company assets using GPS and digital tracking systems.
  • Keep company vehicles, tools and workshop areas clean, organised and presentable.

Ideal Location

To minimise travel, we're interested in hearing from candidates based in Kent or in locations north of the M25, as these areas offer good access to the customer sites covered by this role.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Practical engineering experience working with low-voltage DC systems.
  • Experience fault finding and repairing electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach.
  • Full Clean UK driving licence.
  • Physically fit and able to safely lift and move equipment when required.

Desirable

  • Experience working with Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
  • Experience using digital job management systems.
  • Background within traffic management, highways, construction, utilities or plant hire.
  • Trailer towing experience.
