An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced buyer to join a well-established, family-run manufacturing business with over 35 years of success. Operating as a leading supplier of specialist cleaning chemicals and PPE, the company has built a strong reputation for quality, innovation and exceptional customer service.

This is a standalone buyer role offering genuine autonomy and the chance to make a real commercial impact. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end buyer/buying function, working with a network of over 300 suppliers and overseeing a product range of more than 1,000 SKUs.

Key responsibilities of the buyer role include:

  • Supplier negotiation
  • Relationship management
  • Stock analysis
  • Purchasing through Sage 200 (including MRP)
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Working closely with production and other internal departments to ensure materials are available to meet business demands

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous buyer/buying or procurement experience
  • Experience within a manufacturing or production environment (preferred)
  • Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Sage 200 experience would be advantageous)
  • Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage a standalone purchasing function
