THE OPPORTUNITY

We are recruiting for a Sales Appointment Setter to join an established telematics business based in Ashford, Kent. This is a high-activity role for someone who can dial at pace and make every conversation count. As a Sales Appointment Setter, you will be the first point of contact between the business and the companies they work with. Your role will be to open genuine conversations, understand what is really happening within their operation and set up the meetings that turn into business. If you have the drive and resilience of a strong outbound salesperson and want to build genuine consultative selling skills, this could be an excellent opportunity to develop your career.

THE ROLE

As a Sales Appointment Setter, you will be the first conversation a prospect has with the business. This is a high-volume outbound role, so pace and consistency across the day are important. What sets the role apart is what happens once you are in a conversation. Rather than rushing to pitch, you will make the conversation worth the prospect's time, uncover real evidence of what is happening inside their fleet and move each prospect towards the right next step:

  • A discovery meeting with the sales team when the opportunity is right
  • A well-prepared callback when the timing is not quite right

Alongside the appointments you book, the intelligence you gather will help the sales team go into every meeting well prepared and with a clear understanding of the prospect's needs. This is a role for a Sales Appointment Setter who enjoys having quality, consultative conversations with people, is comfortable picking up the phone repeatedly and can stay motivated and consistent when working towards targets.

HOW WE SELL: MEASURABLE OUTCOME SELLING

The business uses a consultative approach called Measurable Outcome Selling. Rather than leading with product features, you will have genuine conversations that uncover a prospect's challenges and turn them into measurable evidence:

  • Where are they now?
  • Where do they want to be?
  • What is closing that gap worth to them?

You will be fully trained in this method and supported through regular coaching, so you do not need to arrive knowing it. What matters is having the curiosity, confidence and listening skills to do it well.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

As a Sales Appointment Setter, your responsibilities will include:

  • Make a high volume of outbound calls to potential clients.
  • Listen for what matters and explore a prospect's challenges before introducing any product.
  • Quantify the prospect's current position using measurable information.
  • Book quality meetings and well-prepared callbacks.
  • Keep the CRM accurate and up to date.
  • Take part in regular call reviews and coaching, sharing examples of your calls so your skills can develop quickly.
  • Complete regular product knowledge sessions so you can speak confidently about the solutions on offer.
  • Maintain pace, energy and consistency throughout the working day.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Essential

We're looking for a Sales Appointment Setter who has:

  • Some proven experience in an outbound, telephone-based B2B role, such as cold calling, telesales, appointment setting or lead generation - typically 12 months or more.
  • A strong work ethic, determination and self-motivation.
  • Someone who brings energy and consistency to the phone every day.
  • Resilience and the ability to handle rejection and keep going.
  • A confident, clear and professional telephone manner, with the ability to hold a genuine conversation rather than simply follow a script.
  • Curiosity and strong listening skills, with the confidence to ask the second and third question rather than simply accept the first answer.
  • Comfortable working to targets within a structured and closely coached environment.
