A well-established and growing engineering and drainage company based in Kent is looking to recruit a Junior Wastewater Servicing Pump Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior engineer looking to develop their skills but you must already have experience in servicing below-ground pump stations and wastewater systems. You’ll be joining a company that values its employees, offers long-term stability, excellent earning potential, and ongoing training and development.
This role will involve travelling to customer sites across London and the South East, carrying out servicing, maintenance, repairs, and emergency callouts 1 in 6 where you will be paid overtime.
Key Responsibilities:- Service, inspect, and maintain below-ground wastewater pumping systems, including submersible pumps located within chambers, wet wells, and confined spaces.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on pumps, control panels, and associated equipment.
- Carry out cleaning, de-ragging, and blockage removal to ensure systems remain fully operational and efficient.
- Attend reactive breakdowns and emergency callouts when required.
- Complete detailed service reports and accurately record maintenance findings.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Travel between customer sites as part of a field-based engineering role.
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience working with wastewater pumps, drainage systems, or similar below-ground mechanical equipment.
- Basic mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience servicing and repairing submersible pumps and associated control systems would be advantageous.
- Comfortable working within confined spaces and following relevant health & safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively in a mobile role.
- Full UK driving licence essential.
- Willingness to participate in emergency callout duties where overtime is paid.
- Company van and fuel card provided.
- Overtime paid on all hours worked over 40 per week, with the potential to double your basic salary.
