Ready to bring your electrical skills into the fast-growing solar industry? We're looking for a motivated Junior Field Service Engineer to join our growing renewable energy team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an electrically-qualified engineer looking to move into solar, no solar experience necessary, just a solid electrical foundation and the drive to learn. You'll be out on site maintaining ground-mounted solar PV systems, developing hands-on skills in an industry that's only going one way: up.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out routine maintenance, testing, and fault-finding on solar PV systems
- Supporting planned (PPM) and reactive maintenance within your competencies
- Assisting with the installation of new solar and wind systems
- Reporting activities via our CMMS and keeping accurate maintenance records
- Coordinating with third-party contractors on site
- Working safely in line with industry best practice and site-specific risk assessments
What we're looking for:
- Level 2 electrical qualification (City & Guilds, EAL, or equivalent)
- Working towards City & Guilds 17th/18th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regs
- Substation awareness training (or willingness to obtain)
- Full clean UK manual driving licence
- 2+ years' experience in electrical maintenance and fault-finding on LV AC/DC systems
- Comfortable reading SLDs and technical schematics
- Confident with Microsoft Office and reporting/CMMS software
