We’re looking for a Senior Environmental Manager (EIA) to take a lead role across a growing portfolio of renewable energy and data centre infrastructure projects. This is a key position within the development team, responsible for managing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes end-to-end — from early-stage screening through to consent and beyond. You’ll work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and regulators to deliver high-quality environmental outcomes and drive sustainable development. There is also scope to contribute to wider ESG strategy and policy, shaping how environmental performance is embedded across projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading consultant teams through the full EIA process (screening, scoping, reporting)
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary inputs across environmental, engineering, and planning teams
  • Reviewing technical environmental reports (e.g. ecology, noise, air quality) to ensure quality and compliance
  • Supporting projects from origination through to post-consent delivery
  • Managing budgets, programmes, and project risks
  • Engaging with regulators and key stakeholders
  • Promoting sustainable design and environmental best practice across all developments
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members

  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail

Experience:

  • Proven experience leading EIAs within energy or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of UK (ideally Scottish) environmental and planning legislation
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and managing external consultants
  • Commercial awareness including budgeting, forecasting, and risk management

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, EIA, or a related field
  • Chartered status (or working towards), ideally with Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment or similar

Why Apply?

  • Work on high-impact energy and infrastructure projects
  • Play a key role in shaping sustainable development
  • Influence ESG strategy at a business level
