Salary up to £55,000 + company van + bonus scheme. This is an opportunity to build something, not just run it. An established renewable energy business with a strong reputation and a steady flow of high-quality enquiries is launching its Air Source Heat Pump offering. The demand is already there. The clients are ready. What’s needed now is the right person to take ownership and turn this into a fully operational, MCS-accredited division.
From the outset, you will lead the technical and compliance side of air source heat pumps, guiding the business through MCS accreditation and setting the standards that installations will follow. You will stay close to the work, supporting system design, installations and commissioning, while acting as the technical point of reference for both clients and internal teams. You will be comfortable engaging with customers, carrying out surveys, advising on solutions and supporting the commercial side of projects.
As the division grows, you will recruit and manage a small team of engineers, mentoring them and ensuring quality, compliance and performance remain high. This role suits someone who has either helped build or run a heat pump or renewables division before, or a senior engineer with five or more years on the tools who is ready to step into a leadership role and take responsibility for a growing service line.
You will need a recognised air source heat pump qualification suitable for MCS compliance, such as a Level 3 BPEC or City and Guilds (or equivalent), alongside a solid plumbing and heating background and strong knowledge of water regulations. Experience with unvented hot water systems is important, and while you do not need to be an electrician, you must understand how electrical compliance is achieved through qualified electricians. F Gas certification or access to it is an advantage where split systems are involved.
In return, you will receive a salary of up to £55,000, a company van, a bonus scheme and the chance to shape and lead a division with genuine long-term progression. This is a rare chance to put your name on something and build it properly.
