Why this role
You know what roof repairs are required before anyone else can even take a guess. Rotten battens, tired rafters, awkward slate, poor spacing, ageing tiles - you have seen it, fixed it and made the job safe for everyone else who follows. This is a chance to bring that experience into a growing residential renewables business where your roofing knowledge will genuinely shape the quality of every solar PV installation. You will not be treated as “just the roofer”. You will be the person trusted to assess, prepare and protect the roof before high‑quality clean energy systems are installed.
What you'll do
As Lead Roofer, you will work across domestic properties, supporting solar PV installations on a wide range of roof types. You will assess roof condition, identify issues before they become installation problems, carry out remedial roofing work, and make sure each project is completed safely, neatly and to a standard you are proud to put your name to. You will be site‑based Monday to Friday, travelling across Sussex, Kent and Surrey. You will work closely with installers, electricians and operations colleagues, helping the team deliver smooth, professional installations for homeowners.
About the company
You will be joining a young, ambitious renewable energy business that is growing quickly in the domestic solar and low‑carbon heating market. The company works on quality residential properties and cares deeply about presentation, professionalism and customer confidence. This is an environment where people who take pride in their craft can build a long‑term future, not just take another job.
About you
You will bring at least five years' roofing experience across new roofs, repairs and existing domestic properties. You will understand different roof types, common structural issues and how to work safely around solar PV installations. Just as importantly, you will be well presented, reliable and comfortable representing a professional brand in customers' homes. You may be self‑employed now and looking for more stability, or ready for a permanent role with clear progression into supervision, surveying or management as the business grows.
Rewards & growth
You will receive a salary of £35,000 to £45,000, paid holiday, a company van, and the opportunity to move into a secure role within a fast‑growing renewables company.
